Minority Family Advocacy (MFA)

Minority Family Advocates (MFA) provide support for minority pre-adjudicated youth who are court involved but have not yet been detained in the detention setting. The purpose of the MFA program at Mission Possible is to assist with minority youth and their families in navigating the court system successfully. The advocates provide a variety of direct services to the families and are also tasked with helping family build and utilize their natural support systems. The Minority Family Advocacy program consists of teaching courtroom etiquette, providing interpretation services, transportation to and from court, providing support at court hearings, referring youth and/or families to community agencies when appropriate, and advocating on behalf of the youth and family in a variety of settings.
