Food (SNAP)

El Paso County Dept. of Human Services- The Food Assistance Program enables low-income families to buy nutritious food with an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card (formerly called the QWEST card). Food Assistance recipients spend their benefits to buy eligible food in authorized retail food stores. This Program is the cornerstone of Federal Food Assistance and provides crucial support to needy households and to those making the transition from welfare to work.

KPC Respite Center

KPC Respite Center offers temporary crisis and planned childcare for infants and young children at no cost to parents or guardians. This program has been open to families since 2004 and has provided hundreds of families with relief and support.

Pikes Peak Workforce Center

"The Pikes Peak Workforce Center (PPWFC) is part of a nationwide network of workforce centers, serving El Paso and Teller Counties. PPWFC serves three major customer types: employers, adults and youth. PPWFC adult programs are aimed at improving the employability of job seekers. The Workforce Investment Act (WIA) was created to help adults who lack marketable job skills gain the necessary skills to find and keep employment. If eligible, adults may enter a training program. All registered adults, may use the PPWFC Resource Room which offers free, self-service tools and information helpful in career planning and job searching. Other free services for all job seekers include workshops on a wide variety of job search topics.

Women, Infants, and Children (WIC / Main)

EL Paso County Public Health- The WIC program is a food and nutrition program for pregnant, breastfeeding and post partum women, infants and children up to age 5. WIC provides nutrition education, breastfeeding education and support, referrals to other health care programs and nutritious foods.
